Built from strong hands, strong women and years behind the chair.

Long before hair extensions became widely offered across salons in Australia, founder Chewe was already immersed in the craft of hair through braiding salons, spaces where hair was identity, culture and care. Decades spent behind the chair became years understanding women: rebuilding confidence after hair loss, helping busy mums feel like themselves again, and creating spaces where beauty felt welcoming, not intimidating. Mercy Arthur was built from this experience, not simply as a salon, but as a specialist space where everyday women could feel confident, cared for and comfortable.

Behind the business is a single mother, an entrepreneur and a woman who built something of her own while raising her son. Today, Mercy Arthur remains family-run and grounded in quality, honesty and community. That legacy continues through Charlie Alexander, the premium hair extensions label named after Chewe's son, created as a reminder that the things built with love often last the longest.

Hair is never just hair. Confidence rarely is either.

At Mercy Arthur, we believe luxury should feel welcoming, expertise shouldn't feel exclusive and women should never feel like they need to fit a mould to belong. This space was created for women of every background, culture, age and hair journey, whether navigating thinning hair, wanting volume, rebuilding confidence or simply wanting to feel beautiful again.

Our role isn't to change who you are. It's to help you feel more like yourself. Through premium hair, honest advice and years of specialist knowledge, we hope women leave feeling lighter, stronger and more confident, because when women feel good, they often move through life differently.
